Our company has developed the Newoil process for
converting biomass directly into transportation fuels.
The use of high temperature water to treat biomass is
used by a number of companies around the world, but our
process is the only one that can turn biomass into
fuels in a single, one step process. This use of water
at high temperatures and pressures is referred to as
hydrothermal liquefaction or thermal depolymerization.
The Newoil process is energy efficient with 70% to 80%
of the energy in the feed being returned in the final
products. The remaining 20% to 30% of the energy in the
feed is needed to run the process. Variations in the
energy return depend on the degree of energy recovery
and the concentration of biomass in the feed.
